  • Small flat plastic pry tool or protected flat screwdriver

Step by step

    Confirm the GM4 key

    Check the exact vehicle/key configuration against the linked GM4 reference before replacement.

    Remove the mechanical key

    Release and remove the emergency key from the smart-key housing.

    Open the case

    Use the case notch and a protected tool to separate the housing without damaging the clips.

    Check battery orientation

    Install the CR2032
