- CR2032 coin-cell battery
- Small flat plastic pry tool or protected flat screwdriver
Step by step
- 1
Confirm the key type
Make sure the key belongs to the RU3 configuration covered by the linked CarFactBook reference. Honda documents CR2032 for the cited first-generation Vezel smart key.
- 2
Remove the mechanical key
Release and slide out the emergency mechanical key before opening the fob.
- 3
Open the fob carefully
Use the case notch and a protected flat tool to separate the two halves without forcing the plastic tabs.
- 4
Note the battery orientation
Before lifting the old cell out, note which side faces upward so the replacement goes in the same orientation.
- 5
Fit the CR2032
Install a fresh CR2032 without bending the contacts. Avoid touching both flat faces more than necessary.
- 6
Close and test
Snap the case together evenly, reinstall the mechanical key and test lock/unlock functions near the vehicle.
