How to Replace a Nissan Note e-POWER HE12 Key-Fob Battery
Replace the HE12 intelligent-key battery using Nissan's source-backed CR2025 specification.
What you need
- CR2025 coin-cell battery
- Small flat plastic pry tool or protected flat screwdriver
Step by step
- 1
Verify the HE12 key
Confirm the key is for the HE12 Note e-POWER covered by the linked exact-code reference.
- 2
Remove the mechanical key
Release the emergency key from the fob so the case can be opened safely.
- 3
Separate the case
Use the case seam/notch and gently work the halves apart. Do not twist hard enough to damage the shell.
- 4
Check polarity
Observe the old battery orientation before removal.
- 5
Install the CR2025
Seat the new CR2025 fully under the retaining contacts in the same orientation as the original.
- 6
Reassemble and test
Close the case, reinstall the mechanical key and confirm the remote functions operate normally.
Important: Do not substitute a different coin-cell thickness simply because it fits the holder; use the exact HE12 key reference.
