Applies to Honda Fit GP5 · 2013–2020 · Japan-market Fit Hybrid. Archived Japan-market Honda Fit Hybrid GP5 owner guidance; pressure depends on the individual tyre placard, model year and fitted wheels. Always compare the described parts, labels and specifications with your own vehicle and manual.
What you’ll need
- Accurate tyre-pressure gauge
- Air pump or compressor if adjustment is necessary
- Vehicle tyre-pressure label and owner manual
Step-by-step instructions
Follow these steps
Follow the written instructions in order; illustrations are optional, not a requirement for a complete guide. If a component or label looks different on your car, stop and check your own manual.
- Step 1 of 6
Confirm this is the GP5 Hybrid and identify its tyres
Check the chassis code and fitted tyre size before using a pressure value. For the cited Honda Fit Hybrid GP5 source, CarFactBook records 220 kPa at the front and 210 kPa at the rear. The tyre-pressure placard on the individual car takes precedence.
- Step 2 of 6
Inspect each tyre before measuring
Look at all four tyres, including their sidewalls, for visible flattening, bulges, deep cuts, cracking, embedded objects and unusual or uneven wear. Honda's manual calls for these checks before assuming a tyre is safe.
- Step 3 of 6
Measure when the tyres are cold
Use a reliable pressure gauge before extended driving, or after the tyres have cooled. Remove one valve cap, press the gauge onto the valve squarely, record the front or rear reading and repeat on the remaining tyres.
- Step 4 of 6
Compare each axle with the exact vehicle label
Compare the cold reading against the car's tyre placard and matching Honda specification. If an adjustment is necessary, add or release air and recheck the same tyre; do not confuse the front and rear settings.
- Step 5 of 6
Inspect tread wear indicators
Check the tread-wear indicator areas and uneven wear patterns described in Honda's tyre-inspection section. If the tread reaches a wear indicator, or you see sidewall deformation, cuts or significant cracks, have the tyre replaced or inspected by a tyre professional.
- Step 6 of 6
Recheck and investigate repeated pressure loss
Confirm all four readings, reinstall the valve caps and retain the tyre size/pressure notes for future checks. A tyre that repeatedly loses pressure needs investigation for a puncture or other fault rather than repeated inflation.
