2025 Silverado 1500 towing capacity: cab, drivetrain and equipment matter.
Can every 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the same engine tow the same weight?
No. Chevrolet's own 2025 towing table changes by engine, cab, bed, driven wheels and equipment. Examples include up to 9,500 lb for a 2.7L Turbo regular cab long-bed 2WD, 11,300 lb for a 5.3L V8 crew cab short-bed 2WD with the specified package, and up to 13,300 lb for an appropriately configured 3.0L diesel crew cab short-bed 2WD.
Applicable to: Chevrolet official US 2025 Silverado 1500 maximum trailering chart. Values below are examples of SPECIFIC table configurations, not a VIN-specific trailer rating, Silverado HD or Silverado EV.
Before using a tow-chart row: read the truck’s own certification label
Applies to: 2025 US Chevrolet Silverado 1500; GM MY25 Electrical Body Builder Manual, printed pp.0-3–0-4 / PDF pp.5–6. Not Silverado HD, a VIN tow-rating calculation or permission to use every advertised maximum.
The engine code and the complete vehicle are different checks
GM’s model-year VIN table separates engine identity from line, chassis and series. Its following page shows the vehicle certification label on the B-pillar, including GVWR, front and rear GAWR, VIN and original tyre/rim references. Keep that vehicle-specific label with the applicable cab/bed/engine chart row.
A correct L84 or L87 identification alone cannot establish the weight of passengers, cargo or accessories on the individual truck. The chart compares documented configurations; it is not a replacement for the truck’s ratings or an actual loaded weight.

A wheel or suspension change does not rewrite the label
The original label describes the certified vehicle, not an upgraded towing allowance created by a tyre or suspension purchase. Confirm the manufacturer instructions and the actual vehicle and trailer limits before relying on a setup.
This identification checklist adds no new maximum, payload calculation or interchangeability claim. Use the separately scoped engine references for service selection and the existing towing chart for the named configuration; keep the two jobs connected without substituting one for the other.

Manufacturer-specified figures by configuration
These are manufacturer-referenced values for the named configurations only. Read the exact source for your engine, trim and market instead of carrying a measurement across model names or model years.

Match the exact vehicle.
Check 1
Read the exact cab (crew/double/regular), bed length, 2WD/4x4, GCWR and package row in Chevrolet's towing PDF. A headline maximum is not the maximum for every Silverado with that engine.
Check 2
Check the truck's Trailering Information Label, door labels, owner's manual, payload, hitch, trailer tongue weight and relevant legal limits before towing; accessories and passengers can reduce ratings.
Check 3
The chart is US 2025 Silverado 1500 only. Do not use it for Silverado 2500HD/3500HD, Silverado EV or trucks built for other markets.
Where the numbers came from
Original explanatory selection of four explicitly identified engine/cab/bed/drive cells and associated footnotes from Chevrolet's official one-page '2025 Silverado 1500 Max Trailering' chart. PDF reviewed with tabular layout and footnotes; the four cells describe different configurations and must not be read as engine-only absolute limits.

This page is an original explanation of limited factual specifications. CarFactBook has not inferred an exact VIN, fitted replacement part, global-equivalent manual or unpublished service quantity.

2025 Silverado 1500: gasoline oil quantity, service alerts and parts
Scope: US and Canada 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with gasoline engine L3B 2.7L, L84 5.3L or L87 6.2L. Duramax diesel follows a separate supplement; Silverado HD/EV are excluded.
A 2025 Silverado 1500 with a 2.7L turbo does not use the same viscosity or with-filter refill quantity as either V8. Distinguish 2025 gasoline technical-data chapters from diesel service documentation.

What to check at your next service
Follow the Oil Life System and service schedule
Chevrolet's system displays 'Change Engine Oil Soon'. GM says complete the oil and filter service within 600 miles of that reminder, and use the matching engine oil/grade. Reset oil life only after the service, following your exact manual.
Keep oil and drivetrain maintenance separate
A towing-capable 2WD or 4x4 truck may also require drivetrain, transfer-case, differential and brake work. Chevrolet recommends routine oil, tyre and multi-point inspections; don't invent a universal transmission drain-fill or trailer-service interval.
Separate a warning from a diagnosis
A warning light or symptom is not a verified root cause. Record the exact message, conditions and diagnostic codes. Do not continue driving with an urgent oil-pressure or overheating warning just to test an assumption.
Oil-life message versus low oil pressure
'Change Engine Oil Soon' concerns maintenance, not proof of immediate low pressure. An oil-pressure warning requires stopping safely and using the original GM warning instructions. Do not continue towing to test it.
Check-engine light during towing
Record the exact message and diagnostic code and note whether the fault occurs under load. Do not conclude that towing vibration, reduced power or overheating is one sensor without inspection.
Confirm parts before purchase
Match engine, transmission, cab and trailering equipment
GM's 2025 manual states the eighth VIN character identifies the engine code. Order the oil filter and other parts using the actual VIN, engine and truck equipment; 1500/HD/EV and diesel/gasoline parts are not interchangeable by badge.
Verify your towing configuration separately
Use the specific GM trailering chart row and the truck's labels for cab, bed, GCWR, axle, drive system and trailering package. Do not interpret a chart maximum as the truck's VIN-specific rating.
Evidence boundary: These are approximate manufacturer with-filter capacities. Check the final oil level by the manufacturer's procedure. No oil-filter SKU, diesel fill, parts cross-reference, oil drain torque, DTC repair or generic transmission drain-fill has been inferred.
