Hyundai Tucson India: Coolant and Brake-Fluid Level Checks
What can an Indian Tucson owner check before treating a low fluid level as a routine top-up?
Hyundai’s India Tucson manual checks coolant with the engine cool, between the reservoir MIN and MAX marks, and calls for inspection if additions are frequent. Brake-fluid level is a separate check using the specified fluid; repeated loss needs inspection rather than repeated refilling.
Applicable to: Hyundai Motor India Tucson manual “from Aug 2022 to present”, in its 2025 official manual archive; named petrol/diesel versions in that document. Not US 2025 Tucson Hybrid/PHEV coolant service data or a universal drain/refill quantity.

Identify the reservoir before looking at the level
Coolant, brake fluid and washer fluid are not interchangeable. Read the labels and the manual’s engine-compartment diagram before touching a cap. Hyundai’s coolant level check is made with the engine cool; a hot-system reading is not the same reference.
A hot cap can release steam and coolant under pressure. This article does not turn the inspection into a hot-engine opening procedure. The electric fan can also operate after engine shutdown, so keep clear even when the engine is not running.
Frequent additions change the next step
Hyundai directs cooling-system inspection when coolant frequently needs adding. An empty-looking reservoir or repeated loss is not explained by a nominal system capacity, and a larger bottle is not a repair. Record the conditions and the reservoir involved for the dealer.
Brake-fluid level can change with lining wear, but the manual also calls for inspection of an excessively low level or frequent additions. Do not diagnose a leak or decide the brakes are sound just because a top-up changes the mark.
Chemistry and cleanliness matter
The manual specifies its coolant type and water/mix requirements separately from the reservoir check. It also specifies brake/clutch fluid and warns against contaminating that system with mineral-based oil. Never choose a fluid solely by colour or substitute one reservoir’s contents for another.
For brake-fluid handling, keep to the specified sealed product and the manufacturer precautions. This article supplies no bleeding procedure, brake-repair instruction or hybrid cooling-circuit quantity.
Manufacturer-specified figures by configuration

Match the exact vehicle.
Check 1
Check coolant with the engine cool and keep clear of the electric fan.
Check 2
Use the specified fluid and investigate frequent loss; this is not a brake-bleeding or coolant-replacement procedure.
Where the numbers came from
Hyundai Motor India original manual PDF, maintenance sections 9-26 to 9-29 (PDF pp.497–500). Engine cool, fan warning, inspection triggers and DOT4/sealed-container statement checked directly; no region-specific replacement interval transferred from a global webpage.
