Alto K10 K10C India: Oil With Filter and the Correct Level Check
How much engine oil does the documented Indian K10C Alto take with a filter, and is that also its gearbox quantity?
Maruti’s March 2026 Alto K10 manual lists approximately 2.8 L for engine-oil replacement with the filter. Its India row specifies SAE 0W-16; the final dipstick level still decides the refill.
Applicable to: Maruti Suzuki India Alto K10 petrol K10C; manual part 99011M53T09-74W, March 2026, linked by the official directory for cars sold on/after 9 July 2024. Verify the delivered edition; not older K10B, Japanese Alto or proof for every car since 2022.

Keep the filter distinction on the service order
The manufacturer labels 2.8 L as an approximate replacement quantity with the oil filter. It does not label that amount as an oil-only refill or as the amount needed whenever the dipstick is low. Confirm the work being performed before choosing how much oil to buy.
The India specification differs from the adjacent export row: do not select a broader viscosity merely because it appears somewhere on the same page. Check the oil quality classification and India column together with the K10C engine identity.

Finish with the stated level check
For a routine inspection, park level and read before starting or at least five minutes after stopping. Remove and wipe the dipstick, fully insert it, then withdraw it to read between the limits. If oil needs adding, the manual says to add slowly and avoid overfilling.
Its refill sequence calls for about a minute of idling, then stopping and waiting about five minutes before a repeat reading. That is routine refill guidance, not permission to run an engine with an urgent warning. The manual warns about moving fan/belts and hot oil; this article does not reproduce an underbody drain procedure.

Do not combine the three lubricant systems
The capacity table separates engine oil, transmission gear oil and the AGS actuator circuit. A gear-oil figure is not an engine refill; an actuator reservoir is not another place to add the engine product.
For AGS service, obtain the exact circuit procedure and product instructions from Maruti. No actuator product is established by the dash in its capacity-table product column, and a reservoir-inclusive capacity does not establish how much drains during a job.

Match the exact vehicle.
Check 1
Use the K10C and India edition, not a historical Alto engine.
Check 2
The 2.8 L figure is with filter; no unsupported oil-only amount is inferred.
Check 3
Keep clear of moving belts/fan and allow hot components to cool before handling.
