Alto K10 and Celerio share a 998 cc engine family—not a fuel tank size.
Do India's Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Celerio have the same engine displacement and petrol fuel tank capacity?
Maruti Suzuki's current India vehicle references identify a 998 cc K10C engine in both models, but specify a 27-litre petrol tank for Alto K10 and 32 litres for Celerio. Neither value should be transferred to a Japan-market Suzuki Alto, a CNG cylinder, or an older vehicle generation.
Applicable to: India-market Maruti Suzuki product pages inspected October 2026, petrol editions with the 998 cc K10C engine; variants, transmission and model-year approval must match. Not a statement of Sri Lankan-imported or historical specifications.
Use the tank comparison when planning a refill, not a promised range

What sharing K10C does and does not tell you
The Alto K10 and Celerio rows answer a narrow question: a shared engine family does not make the petrol tank identical. For a refill or purchase comparison, first check the body/model and fuel system. The larger nominal tank is not evidence that one car consumes less fuel.
A pump reading below the stated capacity does not itself show a defect. The tank may still contain fuel, and this comparison does not measure its usable reserve or prescribe filling beyond the pump’s normal stop.

Keep petrol and CNG units separate
The petrol figure describes liquid-fuel capacity. A CNG cylinder’s water-equivalent volume is a different measurement, so its number should not be used in petrol-range arithmetic. For an imported car, also verify it is the India-market model rather than a Japan 660 cc Alto.

Match the exact vehicle.
Check 1
Check the exact India-market 998 cc K10C vehicle, build year and fuel type. Petrol 27/32 litres cannot be substituted for CNG cylinder water capacity.
Check 2
The imported Japan Suzuki Alto is a different 660 cc kei platform; this 998 cc India Alto K10 result does not identify its engine, transmission or tank.
Check 3
Fuel tank capacity alone does not prove cruising range. Do not infer oil grade, key fob battery or gearbox fluid from shared K10C engine-family wording.
Where the numbers came from
Contrasted original Maruti Suzuki India Alto K10 and Celerio model product sheets for petrol tank capacity and engine displacement, checked against the corporate K10C engine registry. Kept model name, domestic-market scope and fuel-system qualifiers explicit; no Sri Lanka/older model specifications inferred.
